Use of Secondary Metabolites of Wood-Decaying Fungi to Reduce Damping off Disease

چکیده
Phytopathogenic fungi can cause plant diseases that are difficult to control, including mass mortality of some tree species. The Fusarium oxysporum complex (sensu lato) is one the most dangerous groups phytopathogenic fungi, causing death conifer species, Pinus sylvestris seedlings in forest and ornamental nurseries. Recently, non-chemical methods protection have become basis integrated pest management (IPM) European Union (EC Directive). possibility pine against pathogen F. using active substances from wood-destroying commonly found forests was examined. Methanolic extracts Fomitopsis pinicola, Ganoderma applanatum, Trametes versicolor were contain effective both prevention treatment infected seedlings. G. applanatum T. showed particular biological activity increasing resistance. Efficacy, especially extract increased with concentration. Further field trials needed confirm results obtained laboratory tests on protection.

Xenomic networks variability and adaptation traits in wood decaying fungi
Fungal degradation of wood is mainly restricted to basidiomycetes, these organisms having developed complex oxidative and hydrolytic enzymatic systems. Besides these systems, wood-decaying fungi possess intracellular networks allowing them to deal with the myriad of potential toxic compounds resulting at least in part from wood degradation but also more generally from recalcitrant organic matte...
متن کاملNATURAL DURABILITY OF Cedrus atlantica WOOD RELATED TO THE BIOACTIVITY OF ITS ESSENTIAL OIL AGAINST WOOD DECAYING FUNGI
The Atlas cedar, Cedrus atlantica is a resinous species of Pinaceae originated from North Africa and well known for its noble timber. This work was conducted to assess the natural durability of its wood, to study the chemical composition of essential oil extracted from its sawdust wood and to test the bioactivity of this essential oil against four wood decaying fungi: Gloeophyllum trabeum, Olig...
متن کاملMarine Fungi as a Source of Secondary Metabolites of Antibiotics
Marine fungi have been shown to be tremendous sources for new and biologically active secondary metabolites which are reflected by the increasing number of published literature dealing with compounds from this group of fungi. As a result to these efforts, more than a hundred secondary metabolites from marine fungi have been described. The mycobiota of the coastal water were collected from five ...
متن کاملBioactivity of secondary metabolites and thallus extracts from lichen fungi
Fungal secondary compounds and total extracts are known to affect growth of bacteria, fungi, and plants. This study tested the effects of purified compounds and total extracts from three lichens on the growth of two plant pathogens, Ophiostoma novo-ulmi ssp. americana and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Usnic acid showed no reduction in relative growth rates (RGR), whereas vulpinic acid reduced RGR f...
